Rosacea Symptoms

A common symptom in most people with Rosacea is reddish skin. However, each type of Rosacea has several typical symptoms.

These are some of the symptoms of Rosacea by type:

1. Symptoms of Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea

Here are some of the symptoms of Erythematotelangiectatic Rosacea:

  • Reddish facial skin in certain parts
  • Blood vessels in the face are visible
  • The skin swells
  • The skin becomes sensitive
  • A burning or stung sensation
  • Dry and bersiskisk skin
  • Facial skin is easily flushed

2. Symptoms of Papulopustular Rosacea

Some symptoms of Papulopustular Rosacea or commonly called acne Rosacea:

  • There are many small nodules like zits
  • Blood vessels in the face are visible
  • Peeking skin
  • There is a burning or stinging sensation
  • Peeking face skin
  • Spots appear on the skin

3. Symptoms of Rhinophyma Rosacea

Rhinophyma Rosacea consists of:

  • Thickening of the skin, especially in the nose and followed in other parts
  • Wavy skin texture
  • It appears broken blood vessels
  • Enlarged facial pores
  • Oily facial skin

4. Occular  Rosacea Symptoms

Some Okular Rosacea symptoms:

  • Reddened skin
  • The eyes are very dry and itchy
  • Eyes are sensitive to light
  • Eyes feel like sand
  • Eyes feel burning or stung
  • Visible broken blood vessels in the eyelids
  • There are cysts on the eyelids
  • Decreased visual acuity

Rosacea diagnosis

There are certain actions that will be taken by the doctor to make a diagnosis of Rosacea. The doctor will diagnose Rosacae by digging up patient health information and carrying out a physical examination of the skin.

If needed, the patient will undergo several tests to eliminate the possibility of other dermatitis problems, such as acne, eczema, allergies, psoriasis, and others. If the patient has Okular Rosacea, an eye examination needs to be done.

Rosacea complications

Rosacea sufferers who do not immediately treat it can experience certain complications. Some complications that might occur, including:

  • Enlargement of oil glands on the face
  • Impaired vision in ocular rosacea
  • Feelings of frustration and shame
  • Afraid and worry every time you want to consume or apply something because it can be a trigger
  • Lack of confidence
  • It’s hard to get a job or stay in the office
  • Depression or other mental disorders
